Description

The base of this metallic thread is Au Ver a Soie’s metallic thread. Painter’s Threads Braided Metallic Thread, approximately 10 meters.

Metallic thread can be difficult to work with, but in this form (a small braided band) it is much easier to sew with. Relatively strong; does not easily fray in the needle. Beautiful in all counted thread and surface embroidery techniques. Photographs do not do this sparkly thread justice!

As this is a hand-painted product, color variations are to be expected and swatches here are only an approximation.

#4 Metallic Braid: Recommended needle size is embroidery needle # 1-3 or tapestry-/chenille needle #22, and keep your length of thread less than 17 inches. 

#8 Metallic Braid: For this size (equals 8 braided strands of metallics) an embroidery needle #3, yarn darner #18 or a Tapestry/Chenille Needle is recommended.
